Applied Mathematics and Statistics 1 (St. Étienne, Paris, Casa)

This course is intended to provide managers with the necessary skills and expertise in the use of statistical methods for decision-making in all fields of management. More specifically, this course aims at training undergraduate students to the practical applications of statistics. The emphasis is on providing students with effective knowledge on quantitative analysis, specifying the assumptions underlying the techniques and their limitation, so that they can apply the appropriate ones. Students will learn how to use a random sample to estimate a confidence intervals, how to make decision based on hypothesis testing.

Students are required to prepare weekly case-studies ahead of the class. Sessions in class are mainly devoted to presenting the various concepts as well as applying them to typical examples.
